I photographed my cousin Lorna's daughter today. Lorna was more like a big sister to me growing up than anything. I was honored to photograph her daughter Olivia.

They recently moved to Georgia and we were able to squeeze this session in when they came in for a visit. There are SO many more beautiful pictures that I can't wait to share, but here are a few for now.

Baby Noah

Sweet baby boy Noah was the most active little baby I have ever photographed. He is surely going to be amazing at sports one day. I just couldn't believe how strong he was for only being 7 days old.
He was so tiny and once he fell asleep I loved being able to capture all the newborn details that pass by so quickly. I can't wait to share the rest of his session.

I did a post earlier about something that I was going to be announcing.

For all of you who have been wondering where I have been for the past two months....this is it.

It has taken me quite some time to adjust to the fact of knowing that my husband will be deploying again. He will be deployed to Afghanistan, again. Unlike last time, we have more than a few weeks to prepare. Although I'm not sure which is better taken, a few weeks or a few months.....having that deployment date on your mind all the time, it really feels like a clock counting down the days.

I am cherishing each moment we have together as a family right now. Because I know next year there will be no family vacations, no sitting at our son's football games together and cheering him on, no date nights, no holidays celebrated together....I could go on and on. I know he will be there, thinking of us, but we will be separated by thousands of miles. I have been through one of these deployments before, this time I know what to expect(or at least I hope I do). Which is why I am going to make each and every day count. That way next year, when he is deployed, my children will be able to look back and remember these memories we made together as a family before he left.

I have put a lot of thought and decision making into where I am going to go from here with my photography business. I have a lot of loyal clients, ones who have became friends. And with a heavy heart I have decided to make a few changes.

As of right now I will be scheduling a limited number of sessions throughout the rest of the year. There will be no sessions scheduled in December and January. I will still be booking sessions, just not as many as what I normally do. Please don't hesitate to ask about scheduling a session. I will be announcing my schedule through October soon. If you would like to schedule for one of the days I have available please feel free to contact me about the date you would like to schedule. More days may open up, especially with the amount of training my husband will be doing.

It always amazes me to see just how much the little ones on the Baby Plan have grown. Jessa is one of those. She has grown so much since the last time I photographed her. She looks a lot like her sister Jenna, but they both are beautiful and unique in their own way too.

I loved photographing her session. We did everything from tea cups, to cake, to a lollipop and singing.

I always like to save the best for the gallery, but a few of these I just coudn't wait on.

I'm so happy that we had a break in the rainy weather Saturday. The sun decided to come out and shine and I was able to photograph this cute little baby boy. He is adorable and has the sweetest personality.

Valentine Mini Session Event

For one day only, two sisters combine their talent to bring you a special Valentines Day Event!

Your mini session includes -
30 minutes camera time per one child, (a fee of $10 will be applied for each additional child).
In addition, you will have 5-8 studio photographs that will be available in an online gallery for five days. At the end of the five days an order must be placed and paid for to ensure that you receive your Valentines in time for your little one's big day.

What a beautiful place this girl and her mom had picked out for these pictures, I don't think they could have picked a better place to photograph her senior session. I love this time of year, the color of autumn on all the trees and their reflection on the water.

This sweet little girl has grown so much in just one year. I photographed her last year when she turned one and she was just learning to walk. This year she was full of energy, running around playing, looking for squirrels in the trees, playing ring around the rosy with her mommy and daddy. I love photographing this age, they are always so full of personality.

Happy birthday Chloe, may you have many, many more birthdays full of cupcakes and giggles!

Talent.

The talent of photography seems to run in our family. My sister recently has shown a great interest in wanting to learn. I of course, am thrilled to be able to share something I am passionate about with my sister.
I know she will do great things with her talent as well. She spent the earlier part of the week shooting and learning the camera and all the great things I have learned in my years of experience.
I always knew she had the talent, you can see it displayed in her beautiful home walking down the hallway to her children's bedrooms. I've always told her she needs to go into photography too. I knew she had it when the picture above loaded up on my computer.....any doubts she may have had about "making it in the photography world" I hope are all now gone. I love the picture she took of the little girl, Olivia, above. We've also had a great time spending the evening chatting, laughing, chasing kids and learning and teaching photoshop, although we have been more able to get more teaching/learning done since we tucked the kids into bed (any other mom's will understand).
She is looking forward to all the excitement that this business will bring her. I will keep everyone updated on her progress. Who know's maybe someday we could become a team.

Defending Our Freedom

Deployments are always hard to prepare yourself for, especially when you've already been through one. They are filled with lots of prayers, tears and hope. This wonderful family is getting ready to go through a deployment. In only a few days he will be leaving, kissing his wife and children goodbye and going overseas to defend our freedom.
It was an honor to be able to capture these pictures for them. I know my own children, when my husband was deployed to Afghanistan, loved being able to hold and see pictures of them with their Daddy while he was gone. It was their little bit of hope, a way to keep him close to them while he was gone.
My hope is that these pictures will bring comfort and joy to this family while he is deployed.

Jodi, I pray the days of separation from deployment will go by quickly for you and your children and that your husband returns home safe to you soon. God bless him and keep him safe.

Meet Erica, a beautiful senior. She runs cross country track and is very good at it from what I've heard.
Erica is also the senior rep at her high school for Amber Hope Photography. I have lots of goodies planned that I can't wait for her to see.
